Symptom: When an on-demand scan is performed, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 reports
decompression could not complete (possible reasons: insufficient free memory or disk space, or a problem with temp folders)
This messages appears for all files; no files are successfully scanned.
Operating system is Windows Vista.
Workaround: Give Users Write permissions to the Windows\Temp folder.
See Eset Knowledge Base article SOLN554, although their instructions are incomplete. You will need to take ownership of the Windows\Temp folder before you can grant Users write access.
Since, in its default configuration, Users do not have Write permission to the Windows\Temp folder, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 is not compatible with Windows Vista. If you need to find a way to make the products work together, they are not compatible.
